It is with a great pleasure that the MEKIC art gallery and bookshop invites you to the opening of Kimia Rahgozar's exhibition “You”, which encompasses two series of photographs: Labyrinth and Aadam. A whole of about thirty black and white shots which constitutes an authentic and pure portrait of art that throws a very particular light on human being and the human condition, offering us its beauty, smoothness and universality.
Kimia Rahgozar is an Iranian artist who lives and works in Teheran, and who has brilliantly explored the world of photography for more than fifteen years, during which time she has been mentored by other reputed Iranian photographers such as Kamran Adle, Kaveh Kazemi and Ali Ray-Shaghaghi. A member of the Iranian Advertising and Industriel Photographers Association as well as the Canadian Association for Photographic Art, she has completed several solo and group exhibitions in Iran, England, the United States and Canada. More recently, her art show at Agora Gallery in New York ended last November and was an out-and-out success.
Works by Kimia Rahgozar will be exhibited from February 26th to March 27th , 2011. MEKIC invites you to discover this original body of artworks in the presence of their creator, who will be at the gallery the day of the opening, on Friday February 25, 2011 starting at 7pm.
